Five games for people who don’t play games

While more and more people get into games every year, there are lots of people out there who feel this medium is not for them. And I firmly believe games are for everyone, just like cinema, music or books.

In my experience, it’s usually a matter of people struggling to find the right games for them. Which is completely fair, the most visible games are the usual AAA action titles meant for a hardcore audience with access to gaming devices and previous experience with similar games.

And many times we end up recommending beautiful touching games like Journey that still have many barriers. You need to learn about this odd thing called steam, download it, make a payment, and even then controlling a character in a 3D environment for the first time can be daunting.

So here are five recommendations I’d give to people who don’t usually play games.

If you like books and light-hearted stories. The Temple of No (short, free, desktop and mobile)

If you like shows full of drama and mystery. Immortality (paid on PC and consoles, free with a Netflix account on iOS and Android)

If you like strategy and tactics. Hoplite (paid on iOS and has a free trial on Android)

If you want to play together. Bounden (paid on iOS and Android)

If you want a fast arcade game you can play in seconds. Super Hexagon (paid on Android and iOS)
